short armed pitching style at high school level?

I have played infield all of my life, with very little pitching experience. I switched High Schools over the summer and plan to play baseball at the new high school. I have already talked to some players over there and there varsity coach and they would really like a guy with a live arm, like me, to be able to pitch. but since I have played infield my whole life. all i know how to do is shortarm the ball across the diamand. I pitched a little for the summer team this year and my arm killed after i threw around 100 pitches because i short arm all the pitches. any ideas how to become a legit pitcher and be able to throw with my top velocity? how can i adjust from the short arm throwing it across the dimand to throwing it 60 feet 6 inches with high velocity from the mound? please help me out!! thank you!!

Coming from the infield you are trained to get ride of the ball as quickly as possible and to use the speed of your body moving to the ball to generate the power. The only difference with pitching is that you do not need to get ride of the ball so quickly. You need to learn how to build your speed through your stride first and then follow that by converting that speed into your arm if you are going to reach your top velocity.

What you need to convert from the infield to the mound is a program that will teach you the pitching mechanics necessary to be successful on the mound without worrying about destroying your arm.
