At the store a pack of 10 baseball cars costs 1.25$ and a pack of 15 1.75$.John bought a total of 10 packs of baseball cards.If she spent a total of 14.50$ how many of each packet did she buy. Can you please help my niece doesn’t know and she keeps bothering me and i have a giant test tomorrow and i need to be studing. Please help

let x be packs of 10 cards
let y be packs of 15 cards

Equation 1: x+y=10
x=10-y
Equation 2: 1.25x+1.75y=14.5

sub x=10-y into equation 2

1.25(10-y) + 1.75y = 14.5
12.5-1.25y+1.75y = 14.5
0.5y = 2
y=4

x+y=10
x+4=10
x=6

Therefore John bought 6 packs of ten and 4 packs of fifteen
